The State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Olóyè Akolawole Shoremi, has been conferred with two prestigious awards in recognition of his unwavering commitment to good governance, anti-corruption advocacy, and youth development in Ogun State.
The dual recognition of excellence and induction as an Anti-Corruption Ambassador of Nigeria was an initiative of the Organization of People’s Voice — a member of the ICPC-National Anti-Corruption Coalition (ICPC-NACC).
Presenting the awards on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, the State Programmes Coordinator of the ICPC-NACC, Mr. Idris Abu, eulogized the youth Chairman as a public servant with astute leadership qualities and remarkable commitment to youth development in Ogun State and Nigeria. “Today, we reflect on your remarkable contributions to the fight against corruption across our tertiary institutions in Ogun State over a decade ago,” he recalled.
“The coalition is pleased to see you sustain a lifestyle of transparency, decency, and honesty. These awards serve as a testament to your tireless service and enviable commitment to a fair and progressive society.
“I urge all members of the youth constituency to continue emulating your principles of integrity. We are proud to identify with you,” Abu concluded.
In his acceptance speech, the youth Chairman extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Organizers for the kind reflection and acknowledgement of his past and present endeavors. He reiterated his commitment to a just society being edged on a relentless drive for humanity.
The award was originally scheduled for presentation at the three-day Anti-Corruption programme organized by the Coalition, tagged “Your Right, Your Roles,” and held at the NUJ Hall, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta on Friday, November 14, 2025. The youth Chairman’s entourage included the State Deputy Secretary of the Youth Council, Com. Kehinde Ademuyiwa; and his Chief Protocol Officer, Com. Samsideen Bakare.
