As I sit in stillness, surrounded by the whispers of the universe, I am reminded of the profound role that mediation plays in my life. It is a calling that has been woven into the very fabric of my being, a thread that weaves together with the tapestry of human experience.
I recall the early days of my journey at Ekotedo (Ibadan), when the art of mediation was first revealed to me. It was as if the universe had entrusted me with a sacred responsibility – to stand as a bridge between individuals, to facilitate the flow of understanding and empathy, and to guide others towards peaceful resolutions.
As I embarked on this path, I began to realise that mediation was not just a skill or a technique, but a way of being. It required a deep understanding of the human condition, a compassion that could see beyond the veil of differences, and a wisdom that could navigate the complexities of the human heart.
Through my experiences, I have come to understand that mediation is not just about resolving conflicts, but about creating a space for connection, for understanding, and for growth. It is a sacred space, where individuals can come together, share their stories, and find common ground. As a natural mediator, I have been blessed with the ability to stand in the midst of chaos and find the thread of harmony that weaves through it. I have seen the transformative power of mediation firsthand – how it can heal wounds, mend relationships, and bring people together in a shared humanity.
Meditation has been an integral part of my journey, a practice that has allowed me to cultivate the clarity, compassion, and wisdom necessary for effective mediation. Through meditation, I have come to understand the interconnectedness of all things, and the profound impact that our thoughts, words, and actions have on the world around us.
As I look back on my journey, I am filled with a sense of gratitude and purpose. I know that I have been called to this path for a reason – to be a beacon of balance, a guiding light in the darkness, and a reminder that even in the midst of conflict, there is always a way forward, always a path to peace.
And so, I stand as a mediator, a bridge between individuals, a facilitator of understanding and empathy. I stand as a reminder that mediation is not just a practice, but a way of being – a way of being that can bring people together, heal wounds, and create a more harmonious world.
