Oloye Lekan Alabi, Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chief Abiodun Lasile DL MnbR Orunto Baalufe Owu Kingdom Abeokuta recently visited Adire Shopping Complex at Itoku, Abeokuta, Ogun State. During their visit, they patronised WASJEL Adire and Kampala Store, owned by Chief Wasiu Erinfolami (Basorun Kemta), a renowned merchant with about five decades of experience in Adire fabric materials. It’s an inherited trade because most of them see it as a family business.

Abeokuta, the heart of Egbaland, is globally recognised for its rich Adire heritage. This traditional textile art form boasts diverse types, textures, designs, and colours, attracting customers daily, including Sundays.
The infiltration of the Chinko brand must stop, it’s the government that can stop the importation to grow local businesses.
Let’s support and promote our indigenous businesses, preserving the cultural legacy of Adire and contributing to the local economy.
Adire Kenta, tiwa n tiwa!
