The Armed Forces celebration and remembrance day in Nigeria is a week-long event, marked with various activities, including the launch of an emblem and special services for Christians, Muslims, and other faiths.
The main programme takes place on January 15th, where the government of Nigeria honours the nation’s fallen heroes and heroines alongside the Legion. It is all inclusive, the veterans and their families.
This year’s celebration serves as a poignant reminder of the call to peace and the importance of unity.

A special service was held at the Cathedral of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ake, Abeokuta, where I represented HRM Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, FNSE Otileta VII, Olowu Oluyalo of Owu Kingdom, Abeokuta, with Osupori Owu in paying tribute to our brave heroes.
Let’s hope all is well with everyone in this nation without greed!
-Chief Abiodun Lasile DL MnbR, Orunto Baalufe Owu
