Towards the launch of the Olowu Hope Initiative – Women Empowerment Fund, Alayeluwa Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, hosted the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, in a grand ceremony that highlighted the kingdom’s commitment to women’s empowerment and community development.This initiative is designed to support women with no-interest capital and provide skills acquisition programmes to help them start or grow their businesses. It also focuses on equipping women with tools for education, digital literacy, vocational training, and income growth, ensuring sustainable empowerment and economic inclusion.
In Kabiesi Royal’s address, he stressed the vital role women play in building resilient communities, noting that empowering women translates to uplifting families and strengthening society as a whole.
In her remarks, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim commended the Olowu for his visionary leadership and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s dedication to initiatives that advance women’s participation in economic and social development. She emphasized the alignment of the initiative with national goals of broadening access to education, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship opportunities for women across the country.
With the launch of the Olowu Hope Initiative, Women Empowerment Fund, Owu Kingdom has positioned itself as a model for grassroots-driven empowerment, where traditional leadership collaborates with government to create lasting impact.
